Monte Rosa, "the Pink Mountain," is the second-highest peak in both Western Europe and the Alps at 15,203 feet. Led by our expert hiking guides, embark on this adventure replete with conquests of majestic alpine peaks and passes. Starting in the village of Saas-Fee and finishing in Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn, hike almost the complete circuit of the massif. Beneath cascading glaciers, through ancient hamlets and wildflower fields, take in vistas of Monte Rosa, and learn about Walser culture and tradition. Traveling through the Swiss canton of Valais to the Italian Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, soak up heartfelt hospitality and enjoy restful nights at charming hotels.

The Hotel Kristall-Saphir is located in front of the village of Saas-Almagell. Renovated in 2021, this elegant hotel provides 53 rooms with awe-inspiring alpine views. The hotel's sauna and steam bath are a great place to warm up after a long day of hiking, and its new dining hall, Restaurant 1659, will enchant you with culinary experiences.

Built in the 1940s, Zumstein Hotel is a historic getaway at the foot of Monte Rosa. Surrounded by awe-inspiring scenery, its 40 rooms with a clean-lined, simple look all feature balconies. The hotel's sauna is a great place to warm up after a long day of hiking, and its garden is a lovely spot to soak up the grand surrounds of this classic mountain hotel.
Day: 4, duration: 1Hotel Monterosa
Dating back to 1865, the historic Hotel Monterosa has seen the 19th-century Queen of Italy Margherita of Savoy come through its doors. Today, the renovated hotel offers ten comfortable rooms and three apartments for four to six people. The premises comprise a spacious lounge, sauna, a heated ski room, and a restaurant and bar that serve typical Piedmont dishes and wine.

With its genuine alpine vibe, Hotel Jolanda's rooms feature wooden interiors accentuated by refined fabrics and rugs. Spa and wellness experiences abound, from the swimming pool with Jacuzzi to several saunas and a variety of aromatic baths. At the rustic restaurant, guests can enjoy Gressoney's culinary traditions, paired with a wine list of over 100 Italian and French labels.

This family-run hotel in the historic heart of Val d'Ayas' Champoluc sits minutes away from the ski lifts. Its mountain-style, timber-paneled rooms feature fantastic views of the scenic surrounds, as do the garden and terrace. Savor the region's wines on a wine tasting and enjoy discounted access to Monterosa Spa with three swimming pools, three saunas, a Turkish bath, and a menu of massages.

Run with warm hospitality by the experienced Herin family, Hotel Tourist has a charming, local vibe. Its 34 modern rooms come with en-suite bathrooms; most also have balconies. At the restaurant, guests can feast on Italian cuisine with an Aosta Valley twist. The hotel's serene garden is the perfect spot to soak up the mesmerizing beauty of the Alps.

A part of the Best Western Signature Collection, Hotel Butterfly hogs a quiet location in the center of Zermatt. Alpine-style rooms have en-suite bathrooms, and all come equipped with flat-screen TVs. Guests can unwind at the wellness area with a Finnish sauna, an infra-red cabin and a steam room, and enjoy the on-site restaurant and cocktail bar.
Laurent Langoisseur
Laurent hails from Normandy, France, having grown up in Argentan. In 1991, he obtained his European Mountain Leader certification, and in 1995 he was awarded the coveted patch of the Compagnie des Guides. Laurent has been guiding for MT Sobek since 1995, and is a senior guide on our Alps trips, he has hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc close to 100 times! When he isn’t guiding for MT Sobek, he teaches First Aid and Mountain Rescue to mountain and hiking guides. During the winter, he’s a ski patrol monitor in the mountains above Chamonix.

Florence Simond
A native of Chamonix, Florence is a descendant from two of the area’s oldest families. After growing up in the Chamonix Valley, “Flo” spent several years in the south of France, and then traveled abroad to South America and Asia. She returned to her ancestral home, where the mountains now form an integral part of her life. She has led nearly 50 trips to the Alps, not counting how many times she has done this trip for her own fun! In addition to being an accomplished hiking guide, Flo is a skier and climber. As a member of the Compagnie des Guides, she follows in the footsteps of her forefathers.

Beatrice Mugnier
Beatrice is a native of Chamonix, France, and has been guiding professionally in the Alps since 1989. She comes from a family of mountain climbers and her grandfather was also a professional mountain guide. Aside from being an expert hiking guide, Beatrice is also an avid climber and accomplished skier, and is a ski instructor during the winter months. She loves the mountains and will share her enthusiasm and in-depth experience with you during your trip.
